Nazir Afzal (born 1962, Birmingham, United Kingdom) is a British lawyer and human rights advocate of Pakistani descent, and a former Chief Prosecutor for North West England (2011–2015). He is known for his work combating child sexual exploitation, forced marriages, “honour” killings, and extremism. He actively promotes the protection of crime victims, anti-racism, and the prevention of radicalization. Since 2022, he has served as Chancellor of the University of Manchester.
